Jennifer Vergara

I am a full time registered nurse who recently tried my hand in painting. I reside in Sugarland, Texas and work in the world renowned Texas Medical Center. Since I was little, I have always loved to doodle. However, I did not put any effort in developing my craft until this winter. The stress of the Covid pandemic pushed me to examine my life and ask where else can I grow? Where can I challenge myself? At the start of the pandemic, I shared my little skill in sewing and created scrub hats and masks for my co-workers. After the need for masks and scrub hats were met, I got burned out by work and needed another outlet. Painting has been a catharsis for me. A chance to come out of my shell and start a conversation and share to the world out there about how I feel. Where I was timid in person, here-- I can be loud, I can be bold! This is my story of coming out from the dark and finding the light. This is who I am and what matters to me, and I hope people who see my art can hear my voice.
